Meditation comes from the Latin word, 'meditare,' which means 'to ponder.' Known as a foundational pillar in every spiritual tradition, meditation is the sustained practice of getting to know oneself better. By showing up to what's inwardly arising, we forge personal and deepening relationship with a larger field of perception, becoming conscious and present for our full human experience.

Meditation dates back to humanity's first origins, suggestive of our inherent natural capacity to be introspective. Psychologist, Matt J. Rossano (2007), said that meditation rituals from 200,000 to 150,000 years ago, were held around the community fire. These 'fire gazing' ceremonies helped our earliest peoples enhance their cognitive memory, which led to humanity's development of language and conscious evolution.

With a panacea of styles, philosophies and approaches to meditation, it's become a highly valued and researched cornerstone within our westernized approach to mental health, enriching well-being and opening consciousness. The term "mindfulness" is used interchangeably with meditation, referring to a conscious lifestyle of slowing down, becoming more aware, and applying principles of contemplative practice throughout our daily lives.

Through my approach of the Amansala way of Meditation, we learn to enter a feminine state of 'soft consciousness,' like when we're resting beside a body of natural water. Gazing at the water, we often feel more calm, fluid, and genuinely present to the passage of our thoughts, emotions and experiences. Through this practice of 'witnessing', we connect with a larger, quantum field of energy, which helps us demystify and uncouple from past thoughts, pain, suffering, confusion and rigidity, allowing a higher intelligence to carry us along.
Through private sessions and group classes in meditation, I offer a personally-crafted approach that meets others where they're at, weaving a variety of "presence" practices gleaned from my 25+ years of experience, study and intuitive wisdom in transformational growth, feminine alchemy and spiritual development. Group Classes Introductory small group meditation classes are held in-person at my home office sanctuary in Milwaukie, Oregon.
Class is limited to 6 participants. Sign up for the waiting list HERE to be notified when our next class is happening. ✨ Group classes generally run 90 mins with personalized attention and instruction. Sharon covers the basics for crafting your own meditation practice, answers your direct questions, and guides you in safely exploring at least 3 different styles of meditation during our time together. You'll receive a digital packet with information and resources after class, to support your deepening and committed practice. |
Our class environment is an inclusive, safe, non-pressured space where curious minds can leave perfectionism and self-criticism at the door. We come together in a field of wonder, playfulness, and non-judgement, being open to whatever experience will best support our holistic discovery and well-being.

About Sharon First drawn into the study and practice of meditation at 18 yrs old, Sharon has been a dedicated student for 35+ years. She's learned and used various forms, traversing Transcendental (TM), Vipassana, Raja yoga, Qi Gong, mantra, walking meditation, conscious breath, visualization, body scan, progressive relaxation, guided inner focus, mindfulness, chanting, still center, shamanic journeying, visualization, and many other meditative styles. She's especially gifted at crafting intuitively-designed meditations that personally meet others wherever they're at.
Sharon personally used meditation to grow in her capacity of being more grounded in her human experience. She credits meditation as being a life-line, helping her find her center during the often confusing experience of being highly empathetic and emotionally open, through her high-risk pregnancies and delivery, during cycles of depression, anxiety, with panic attacks and while navigating childhood trauma, health conditions and an eating disorder, and when she experienced physical burnout and hormone disregulation entering into menopause. |
